The relationship between the farmer and seed is that between mother and son. These seeds that I am wearing talk to me all the time. They say, ‘Though I am small put me in the soil and I will do great work!’ Navdanya is not the movement to save seeds, but the seed of all movements. I am grateful for Navdanya because it has opened a window to see the concerns we have are issues all over the world.
This amazingly beautiful world is in harmony and balance that rests on co-existence. All this depends on the seed that ensures evolution and continuity. All the species have a role in maintaining ecological balance and live in harmony. Only humans have the option not to live according to nature. If we work on co-existence we can be happy.
If we give it up and force other species out we can work to make others, and ourselves, miserable. The idea of happiness by accumulation is erroneous. Financial wealth as the measure of all things degrades humanity. Living with unlimited needs is not the way. We must live under the umbrella of discipline by nature. Happiness will not come by greed, but by living the right way on the planet.
